Customer-Linked Users and Machines
The main highlight of this release is the introduction of customer-linked users and machines, making it easier to give external customers access only to the machines and information that belong to them. Users can now be linked directly to a customer, and user profiles can automatically include customer-related details such as company name, address, contact person, phone number, and email.
Machines can also be linked to customers without affecting the existing Group and Location structure. This means companies can keep their current machine hierarchy and integrations while adding a separate customer layer for access control and filtering.
Customer Filtering and Management
Customer-based filtering has now been added across key areas of CIMCO MNT, including Machines, Add Machine, Faults and Work Orders, Service Reports, Time Reports, and Machine Priority. Tree views also preserve the parent structure when filtering, making it easier to keep context even when only customer-related machines are shown.
Customer management has also been improved and is now available as a standard view inside the Presence module. In addition, administrators can create customers from existing machine groups, bulk import customers via CSV, and use customer names directly in email presets across multiple modules.
SMS Notifications
This release also introduces SMS notifications as a new communication option alongside email. MNT now supports SMS delivery through Twilio, ProSMS, GatewayAPI, and a CIMCO-managed SMS relay. Each email preset can optionally be sent as SMS as well, making it possible to use dual delivery for important notifications.
SMS is only sent to users who have Receive SMS enabled and a valid mobile number configured. Full SMS setup, including test functionality, is available under Settings > SMS. The feature is optional, disabled by default, and does not affect existing email behavior unless it is actively configured.
Secure and Controlled Access
Access control rules remain unchanged, ensuring that users still only see the machines assigned to them. Customer filtering only exposes data that the user already has permission to access, so the new customer features extend flexibility without changing the underlying security model.
At the same time, existing grouping, structure, and CIMCO DNC and MDC integrations continue to work unchanged. Both customer features and SMS notifications are fully optional and remain inactive until configured, with no manual migration required.
Together, these updates make CIMCO MNT more flexible for companies working with external customers, while improving communication, customer organization, and controlled access to machines and maintenance information.
