Location-Based Presence Check-In
This release introduces optional location-based verification for employee clock-in and clock-out in the Presence module. Administrators can now validate check-ins using GPS distance, IP or network ranges, and QR codes, making it possible to ensure employees are at the correct location when starting or ending their work.
The feature can initially be enabled in a log-only mode, allowing companies to monitor behavior before enforcing stricter validation rules. Approved locations can be defined for facilities, customer sites, home offices, and temporary work locations, and can be assigned globally or to specific users.
Employees can also request new check-in locations, such as home offices or temporary work sites, which managers can approve or reject directly in MNT.
QR-Based Check-In
QR-based check-in is one of the most important additions in this release. Administrators can now create QR codes for sites, machines, inventory, work orders, and maintenance schedules.
These QR codes contain only secure random tokens and never expose login credentials. Employees can scan a code, open a safe public page, and clock in using their employee number. The session is automatically linked to the correct location, making it ideal for travelling workers and distributed teams.
QR codes can be regenerated, disabled, and printed as physical labels for use on-site.
Corrections, Audit and Reliability
Handling of missed or incorrect check-outs has been significantly improved. MNT can now send reminders, notify managers, and optionally auto-close sessions when check-out is forgotten.
Employees and managers can also request corrections with a reason, which must be approved before the system recalculates work time.
The Location Check-In audit log has also been enhanced with better filtering, paging, clearer distance information, and bulk actions. Importantly, audit entries can be removed without affecting the underlying time registrations.
Additional Improvements
Approved locations can now display maps directly inside MNT using OpenStreetMap or Google static maps, providing better visual context.
Location overrides are now visible directly in Presence lists, where managers can approve, reject, or review historical decisions.
This release also introduces the ability to convert faults into planned work orders without losing associated data such as files, time entries, materials, and history. This makes it easier to transition from reactive issues to structured planning.
In addition, URL-based login has been made more reliable for kiosks, demos, and integrations, ensuring consistent behavior while still securely removing credentials from the address bar.
Fixes and Enhancements
Several fixes and usability improvements are included in this release. Presence shift assignments now correctly retain their validity dates, and issues with sub-machine creation, forgotten checkouts, and missing location data in emails have been resolved.
Dark mode readability has been improved, and employees can now optionally view their approved check-in locations directly on shared kiosk screens.
